St. Eustatius Animal Welfare Foundation

About Us

SEAWF was founded in June 2002. Our goal is to improve the well being of the animals and people on Statia by:

The Quill

We are located on St. Eustatius in Concordia, just past the Fire Department and near the Airport.

Our building is behind the Agriculture Experimental Station building.

Veterinary Clinics

The St. Eustatius Agriculture Department (LVV) employs a veterinarian Dr. Veira for the main purpose of inspecting meat at the slaughter-house but is also available for treating pets most weekday afternoons at 3pm at the SEAWF facility.

In addition, SEAWF coordinates and schedules regular clinics for surgical procedures such as sterilizations. The operating room and treatment facility is in the SEAWF shelter. The LVV veterinarian and sometimes Dr. Swanston from St. Maarten are the attending veterinarians for the clinics.

We always have dogs and cats at the shelter that are looking for a forever home. Come by the shelter to meet them or check our Facebook page to see who is up for adoption at the moment. Also, take a look at the article about our shelter at Devocean Pictures. Please contact us if you can provide a home.

If you are not on Statia but want to adopt one of our dogs we will help with the transport.

Volunteers Needed

We always need volunteers to help with walking and feeding the animals at the shelter. If you have time, but don't want to handle the animals, we can also use help with cleaning, maintenance, and financial tasks. If you can spare a little time, please contact us.
